Dysport is a Liquid Face Lift product that is known as an alternative to Botox. It was approved by the FDA as a wrinkle treatment for forehead and brow wrinkles in 2009. Dysport and Botox are made with the same active ingredient, Clostridium Botulinum.

There are some important differences between Dysport and Botox. Dysport is made from the same neurotoxin as Botox, but it is not as thick. This allows Dysport to disperse easier under the skin and may make it a better choice for thinner skin such as that near the eyes for treatment of crow’s feet.

Studies have shown that Dysport can last up to six months before repeat treatments are needed. Botox has been reported to last half as long as that.  With Dysport you can expect quick results. In only 1-3 days you will see a change to a more youthful look. As with all Liquid Face Lift injections, side effects are minimal. Minor, swelling or bruising may occur at the injection site and last for a few days. As with any injection, there may be minor pain. Dr. Cappiello uses a dental block for all Liquid Face Lift procedures to reduce pain.

Any Dysport or Botox injection should be given by a qualified physician. Liquid Face Lift procedures should never be done by an assistant or nurse or other office personnel.
