Perlane

Perlane is an injectable filler in the Restalyne family of products.  Perlane, like Restylane, is commonly used to treat lips, crow’s feet, cupid’s bow (lines around the mouth) and forehead lines.  Liquid Face Lift has become a popular alternative to a traditional face lift. Perlane and Restalyne have been used by millions of people worldwide and are available in over 60 countries.

Perlane is an all natural product. It is a non-animal based injectable gel made from hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is found naturally in living organisms.  Because of this, no allergy testing is required before treatment. The Hyaluronic acid in Perlane will eventually break down naturally in the body.  When this happens you will want to have another treatment. Perlane lasts a bit longer than Restylane. Follow up treatments are usually needed from six to twelve months after the first treatment but results vary among individuals.

There are many important differences between Restylane and Perlane.  Both products are used on lines around the mouth, eyes and forehead and to treat the lips, but Perlane is a thicker substance with larger particles so it is used for more moderate lines and wrinkles.  Because of the size of the particles in Perlane, it is usually injected deeper into the skin.  Perlane is not typically used on thin skin such as the skin under the eyes.  

Recovery time after Perlane treatments is  short.  You should be able to return to normal activities the same day. Minor bruising, swelling, or redness may appear for a few days after the injections.  Results can be seen immediately with Perlane and within two weeks you will see full results.
